I believe I saw this for $169 New(Core System) on the Black Friday ad for Wal Mart. $10 is nothing, New vs. Refurbed.

Tigerdirect! I won't bother. I don't even feel comfortable submitting my CC info to them. You never know how they will mess you over.

#3, I am not an expert, but I can pretend I am. My understanding is some new games will not work with older software, on purpose I would guess to try an close up the workarounds people had figured out to play games free. So, I guess this doesn't even answer your question, just trying to give you some info.

#3 yes you can but I'm pretty sure they found a way to use homebrew on a newer version. I don't know how and I am to lazy to do it myself,

    heres a site with a tut. http://forums.qj.net/f-guides-hacks-homebrew-and-emulators-43/t-tutorial-271-generic-downgrader-73469.html

yes you can downgrade it but you need the original 1st version of GTA vice in order for it to work without any problems.

You can't downgrade new hardware version TA-082, which is like anything purchased after July 2006. Not sure. Google it. I doubt you can play homebrew on these refurbs.

Games go for $9.99 for titles no one wants, and $19.99 for older hit titles, and $49.99 for latest release games like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. UMD movies are a waste. Just get a 1 gig(or better) card and transfer a dvd to it.

But if you go to Circuit City, the cash register in the games dept. Often has demo games for a PENNY($.01). They will cause you to update the firmware, but you can play the first couple missions/levels/tracks. I just picked up 9 games from there the other day. Great option to try before you buy, and frees up space on the Gamefly Queue when you find out the game stinks.

Can anyone in Wisconsin area confirm that Circuit City's around here sell demo games for .01? That would really alleviate the aggrivation of spending too much on a game that you are uncertain of.

i have a serious theory that goes like PSP and Memory stick duo and 1.6 GHz etc. are some of the filler words that snag the filter on this site to qualify this as a decent sized worthless post. sorry reader, this is just an attempt to check that serious theory.

It is better to buy a new one that comes with accessory and warranty . In case you get one with dead pixel, you can still return it.

One month warranty?! So if you were to buy this a christmas gift your warranty would be invalid by the time it was opened. Lame!

The PSP is a great system with lots of potential, but mine sits in a drawer because all the games for it suck. There have been about 5 to 7 good games for it. Now I am waiting for something new to come out. If you do get it get Star Wars Legos II, Loco Roco and Burnout Legends. Those three don't get a lot of exposure but are great games.
