This is the smaller screen version. The touch screen version with the slightly larger screen is about a hundred bucks more. The new version Sony has out that is more like the Kindle due to the fact that it has wireless runs about $400. But the Kindle is only around $250. The only good thing about Sony is they have gone to the epub format which is supposed to be the new universal format. However I don't know if you bought a epub book from Sony if it would work on a epub version of the Kindle, if there was one.
Anywho, I love it, and the only two things I don't like is that it doesn't power all the way off unless you do a shutdown in the advanced settings every time. Therefore it slowly drains the battery while not really turned off at the switch.
Second, no back light so you'll need either the accessory with one built in, or some other light source.
Look up the specs and reviews on Amazon if you are interested.
I have the PRS505 also and like it. I also have the cover with the light that works fine, even tho it adds a little bulk compared to the standard cover. The books you download from Sony's book site or redownload are in epub and not Sony's old format.
This is one of the best options next to the kindle.
Friends don't let friends buy Sony.
I'm waiting to see what Apple delivers before I commit to any more ebook readers.
