What is there to refurbish in this little thing?
^ Could just be factory surplus that they relabel as refurbished so as not to devalue the new/retail packaged product.
On the other hand, I don't know about watches but on some items a person is expected to have contact with against their skin, the manufacturer takes any that are returned, removes the internal electronics and puts it in a new case, or for this product possibly a new strap too.
I suppose it's size of an iPod Nano.
Nothing is "smart" about Sony.
