I have a Sony receiver I bought a few years ago. It is a POS. The worst piece of audio equipment I've ever owned. Sound options are a joke and the sound reproduction is horrible. It's like having a giant TV speaker. The JVC 5.1 receiver i bought in 1997 is ten times better and even that is not high end or even mid range.
I always buy SONY receivers.
With my JBL speakers they can shake the neighbors house and deliver more than enough power to the speakers.
With my JBL speakers they sound like they have a total inability to produce bass in any form. Same speakers, older, lesser JVC receiver sounds 100x better.
