      Not a big fan of the Sony laptops, seem to be overpriced with out all the extras of a dell or hp.

      These are pretty slick little media machines and this isn't too bad a deal compared with their prices elsewhere. Last month they had a few nice upgrades listed for free on their site (free upgrade from C2D T5800 to P8400; free Blu-Ray upgrade, etc.), which permitted one to get a machine a bit more expensive than this one but more capable. Ultimately decided against getting one: when I checked one out in person the 16:9 aspect screen seemed awfully short, and the keyboard style is fairly roomy but seemed like it'd take some getting used to.

      i have sony vaio and dont really like it!
      definitely overpriced plus they dont make it as they used to!
      Most sony uses crappy parts these days...

      what extras? how about dedicated vid card and bigger hard drives!

      nice form factor but hard to find many benefits beyond that when you consider the price...though, i would say this about $100 overpriced as opposed to $200 as suggested by others
