The whole front is wrapped in black speaker mesh which can be marked or damaged before it is sent to you. (It should be metal mesh!)
Warning: has a really big vampire power brick.
Needs a big T antennae (like on your stereo receiver) to work well for FM (comes with one).
Makes sure it works with your iPod/Phone model.
Some owners report a buzz or hum from them.
Worst of all NO LINE OUT. Forget about using this on your stereo for HD radio. Dumb move by Sony.
sony sells a hd tuner for that purpose thats more for ipods use. i using it in place of stereos th tuner, run one of vidieo inputs just red and white rca no digital output souds great leave it on a classic rock station all time using wire for antenna works fine in city..
Just an update. The radio came in yesterday, suprisely it works with my ipod nano G5. People online did mention it was not working with ipod nano G4, and the document from sony did say it only works with nano G3 and earlier versions.
I guess either apple fix the compatible issue on G5 or sony upgrade the hardware with the 'refurb' process. Also there is a 'line out', #2, not sure why are didn't see it.
For $70 bucks, the sounds is very good. It is kind of big though, the power convertor is also very very big. But again, for $70, you got a brand name HD radio with ipod dock and remote, and the sound is decent. I am very happy with this radio so far.
