#1 is correct. This may last a year.

It is flimsy, sharp edges that will chip off the faux-lamination, too shallow to sit at with the printer stand or system under it, but for all it's drawbacks it will last more than a year. It's just not worth $40 though relative to other alternatives for little more money.
