Of course, we are expected to pay hundreds more in the up-coming Bluray box sets.

Remastered? How much can they do with the original NTSC material? I'll stick with my upscaling media player.

It's in film, so the resolution can be good, but it's 35mm so they can't stretch it to look good in BD.

I picked this up from Amazon a week ago. I own every episode of Star Trek: TNG in DVD and I will be buying it again on blueray.

Yes the image does not stretch all the way to the edges of the screen but let me tell you, the picture and the sound are incredible. You get to see/hear things that you were never able to before. And since they hard workerto the original negatives to produce this set, they actually had to redo in CGI some of the effects.

If you're any kind of fan of TNG, at least pick up this sneak peek. I think it's worth it. At least it'll give you an idea if you want to buy the whole set when they start rolling it out.

Did not know that it was shot on 35mm. Learn something new every day. "During the remaster process it has been revealed that 13 seconds of footage from Sins of the Father are missing, meaning that the high definition release will contain upscaled footage from the Betacam SP TV master."
