Deep Discount has the Star Wars Original Trilogy 6-DVD Box Set for $20 with free shipping. Contains both the original and "special" edition versions of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. The original versions are still non-anamorphic because Lucas hopes you'll prefer the special edition versions more.
Lucus has released SWs on video cassette, multiple laser disc versions, and DVD. Don't worry. I am sure Lucus will release yet another version of SWs on BluRay with all new footage created by ILM. The original SWs is Lucus' cash cow!
LOL--Yeah, we'll see a GRAND re-release YET AGAIN in a few years of it all on BluRay. There will likely be much fanfare, gobs of advertising, an entirely new toy line, tons of happy meals with additional toys, special special editions depending on the box one buys, special console/PC games, and as #2 notes, extra footage, that I might add somehow mysteriously appears from a nameless whorehouse, er, warehouse, and more of course. I frankly would like to see a comparison against the early Ford, Fisher, and Hamill (maybe others) up through current times to see how the aging process and professional accomplishments stack up against each other.
#3 The aging and accompishments would probably go, with motion picture successes being an indicator of accomplishment and maintaining overall looks (weight, hair no disfigurations)an indicator of aging,
Hard to argue that Fisher has had a more accomplished career than Hamill. Since Star Wars, Fisher has had a smattering of bit parts in TV and movies. Hamill has done the same, while also developing an extensive resume of voice-over roles in many different animated series.
I wish Lucas would get over his perfectionism and release it on blu ray

Fisher hosted SNL. 'nuff said.
Theres HDTV versions available on the internet...you just have to look!
Amazing quality even in 720p.
It'll probably be released to theaters in 3D, then to BluRay in 3D with the originals coming a few years later after the 3D BluRay sales stall.
Don't waste $$- wait for Blu-ray.
Unless you are star wars collector like my friend: He even got star Wars soundtrack LP and laser disc...
I can wait. I have all 6 on my HD-DVR from when they were on HBO/Cinemax. Not BD quality but better than DVD.
Lucas is a douche
I'm saving my $ for the BluRay release.
These movies are pretty sweet, even 30 years later.
