What would you use this thing for? Don't most laptops and computers already have a built in sound adapter?

I have a Mac Mini and my sound card stopped working. This gadget is a $20 fix for a potentially much more expensive fix. I'm sure it's the same for a laptop. Cool tool if you need it. Cool

#3 for a typical laptop, the soundcard is a low-quality one, the output quality is average, and the plugs are not completely durable (hence over time, they may get loosen, and you may get a sound that is getting cut as seen in the toshiba I have). I am using turtle beach one, but I may use another. The reviews on this one are sufficiently good.

I bought one of the black models to replace the broken on-board sound on my laptop. Much cheaper than a new motherboard or laptop.

I just ordered one of these (in black). The onboard sound on my Dell Dimension desktop crapped out -- sound is all scratchy. This will be a cheap fix.
