This is not a bad unit for the rare user, but if you plan to make espressos at home more than once a week, you're really better off buying a semi-automatic or even super-automatic. These types are a lot of hassle for their worth.

Starbucks only recently went to fully automatic machines, before then they were still pumping out their 500+ shots of expresso a day using manual machines (of course heavier duty) like this one.

if you like expresso and want to venture into barista world here is your entry-level machine.

I bought this exact thing from Walgreens for $20. I would say it makes coffee, not espresso. But it does have a steam wand. Also, it says "Warning: This product is known to the State of California to contain lead." Good thing I don't live in California.

    don't buy this!
if you want to be entry level into espresso/cappuchino/etc, at least do yourself a favor and get a pump-driven one rather that steam. hamilton beach sells an entry level unit that retails at $100 and drops to $50 on sale occasionally.
