OK, I haven't looked into this deeply, but it does seem like your typical gamer's mouse is sensitive enough to manage perfectly well on a regular mouse pad or other surface. I really wonder whether there's any noticeable gain with this thing.

Amazon reviews are positive, claiming it's thick/durable, smooth surface, good tracking. It's also larger than the typical pad at 12.6" x 10.6"
