I do expect now days current model of tripod/mono pod come with quick release plate.
BTW, SUNPACK don't have any customer support at all- I used to email the more than 10 times a product issue and they just ignore me- non of the emails were replied . So if you want good customer service - forget sunpak. I will never buy sunpak again.!

#2- in case the plastic parts broke and your need your tripod get warranty service then you will know.

^ Ok but if/when they want you to mail the broken one back to them that's already about $2 or more via first class mail plus the time to do it.
