Someone told me that all the pre-printed shirts and stuff for the losing team are sent overseas as a charitable donation of clothing. Anyone know if this is real, or just bunk?

I heard the exact same thing about the losing apparel from a local sports shop owner last night but I didn't believe him...

Would love to hear if anybody can confirm/deny this one...

#1 they do that every year. All the premade NFL non-winning teams stuff is sent out to some nowhere poor African village ... or as I heard Howard Stern mention this morning that now there is a now a tribe somewhere in Africa who are now called the Patriots.

That's interesting about the NFL donating the clothes to impoverished countries. As it happens, my friend who is a journalist is heading to the Congo today so he might very well see some guy wearing a Patriots 19-0 tee shirt....lol I hope it takes a pic.

#2 Where were you the entire season?

Last I heard, Patriots is the only team got 18-0 for entire NFL history... that says something, ain't it.

The Giants deserve to win, especially their defense. I must admit.

#11, that's how I felt about the Patriots in 2001 vs. the Rams.

There are some great pics on the web of 3rd world countries with people there wearing T-shirts from the losing teams of Super Bowls (and other sports). Its a much better use for the clothing than just destroying it, and it leads to some great laughs when the pictures find their way to the Internet (thanks Google!)

Face it... that was a game for the ages...
When my 10 year old who started really catching on to the un-defeated drumming somewhere back at game 12, I said ..."Cheaters never prosper". Although, they continued to win… when the Giants wild-carded their way in, my son was all Patriots… bla-bla-bla and Giants are nothing (he likes to follow this stuff more than me) and I just I just thought revenge is always served cold… Well he started watching it fall apart, then start crying the blues, then once the Giants won I just said ..."See cheaters never prosper" boy did he clam up.
Man it was nice having him learn that lesson…

#11, lucky catch? are u kidding me? i suppose if harrison(who is also a cheater) had caught the ball instead, then it would've been a great interception? Anyhow, enjoy watching the replay of that catch for the next 5 decades.

#10 - where was I all year? I was watching the NFL - thats where I was at...and lets be honest, the Patriots are a great team, but they were over rated because they too had a little luck on their side, they won very close games on some lucky circumstances, especially in Baltimore - the Ravens had them beat and the referees totally screwed up the calls in the 4th qtr.

To top it off, the Patriots were cunning enough and devoted enough to do whatever it took to win, so they went as far as video taping other teams in secret...now I agree that taping the teams didnt translate to their defeats, but at the same time we all have to agree that it gave the Patriots an unfair advantage.

Needless to say, Im glad the Giants won - it shows that no matter how good you played all season, it all about how you play that one final game. The Patriots were out played and out matched...their offensive line was a joke!

Tom Petty was on the field longer than Tom Brady was for the entire first half!

The Giants did their homework, they studied the Patriots and they prepared themselves...they deserved to win.

Enough said...get back to work suckers...

Patriots are overrated. So they had a perfect regular season, so what, they played in the AFC East. That's a free 6 wins. Not to mention that their "great offense" was them just running up the score for no reason. Let's go for it on 4th and 10 when we're up by 21 points with all our starters.... please. I'd like to see how many TDs Rice would've caught if the strike didn't happen, or how many TDs Payton would've thrown had he played more than the first series in the last 2 games of his 49 TD season AND the fact he didn't even play the 2nd half of a few of those games.

And I agree with bacon. The entire Giant's line should've won the MVP, both offense and defense. I was in particular impressed by the way the RBs were able to pick up the safety blitz.

    Nicely said Nusiance...

I agree with this quote on a ESPN messageboard - "The Pats began showing their weaknesses around week 10. The Giants outcoached, outplayed, and outsmarted the Patriots.
They were overrated overhyped by the media and the Giants proved it.
No upset here, just a victory by a better team."
