    Actually it's $10 for 1, or $17 for two...

Anyone used one of these things? I always think it might be useful.

I own two. The first one bent and would not stay closed. The second one has been fine for years. It is OK to use every so often. The bottle opener is pretty worthless, so if that is the main reason you would get it, don't.

I've used one for years. Two of my brothers also have them. Of the five people I know personally, only one ever had one fail, and it was replaced promptly.

Also, I have never heard of this knife being confiscated by airport "security" personnel.

I got one for Christmas. Interesting gadget. Works fine for what it is. Its solid, not flimsy. The blade is VERY sharp, and it takes quite a bit of effort to open it, so I'm always really cautious with that. Also, when you open it, it detatches from your keyring - good in that you don't have to thread the ring to get it off, bad in that I almost always forget and, when I open it, drop my keys.

In all, a great little thing to have if you like having a blade and a couple small screwdrivers available without the bulk of a pocket knife. And while I haven't tested it yet, I can see how, like #5 said, it would pretty easily slip by, since it just looks like another key on your keyring. Definitely a good news/bad news kind of thing.

#8 Wow, I'm not trying to be mean, but you must be hella forgetful. I've never done that and I've had my utilikey for over a year now.
For those still interested, buy it at thinkgeek.com. It'll cost you about $16.31 shipped. Thoroughly worth the money, especially due to the fact that airport security won't confiscate it if you forget to take it off your keys (lost a good keychain knife that way)(and yea, I'm hella forgetfull sometimes too).

Very useful tool. Ever since they wont allow leatherman micra on flights any more - this has been the next best thing. No one bothers you with these - can fly with them. And it has come in handy countless times. You can get them for about/under $4 normally.

I have one, and it's a really great tool, BUT, I've forgotten about it and had sharp security person stop me on it. I take it off my keyring when I have to go through security now.

i have one of these for at least 2 years now and it's really handy. it's not a leatherman, but when you don't need pliers it's pretty handy. just be careful when you use the bottle opener because you can get cut in the process. I've gotten through most security places without a problem, but just in case, i drop it in my luggage if i ever travel.

$8.88 at Advance Auto Parts. If you're a Costco member, look for this in a kit with other stuff from this co. closed out for $10.
I've been all ove r the planet with one of these on my keychain. Never was questioned, even in China.

Had one for two years now. Can be useful. Knife is sharp. a bit hard to open at times and yes the bottle opener is crazy hard to use and dangerous and you will have to hold onto the blade with your fingers to open up ANY bottle
