Wow, that is an amazingly bad device. Daily Steals is fitting if they manage to sell anybody one of these and steal their money. it MAY work for typing data in a notepad program or maybe play a few mp3, but that's about it.
These are usually sold to penny-wise-pound foolish people who are ignorant of technology. They get it home and figure they're getting something that's good enough for face-bookin', Email, etc. You're better off with a used laptop or netbook. You might even consider a Motorola lapdock ($50), if you happen to already own a compatible phone (Bionic, Atrix, Razor, etc).
Many of these types of devices can have Android flashed onto them, with Goog play market. That would arguably make them a lot more useful than running WinCE.
My coworker bought a tablet from Sylvania that costed him $140. After trying the tablet, I yelled at him for buying such a low quality and overpriced stuff without letting me know. We must make effort to inform people the junk items being sold so they won't waste their money!
In some ways, it's also a remarkable deal: most of that hardware (3 USB slots, ethernet, SD card slot, wifi) in one machine for $39 is not so impressive today, but 2 or 3 years ago it would have been worth a closer look. Five years ago, and it would have been amazing.
Look at it this way -- we're cleaning out closets today and having a laugh, for example, what to do with the portable DVD player and pair of 7" screens? Now everyone's laptops and phones make the DVD player totally obsolete, but it wasn't that long ago that we took it on every road trip.
Remember that the cell phone you have in your hand or pocket at this very moment will be like that DVD player in 3-5 years. "State of the art" lasts barely 1 or 2 years now. I think there's some value in looking "back" at the previous wave or two of devices, to appreciate how fast the pace is.
BTW, I seem to recall my OG Droid came with 256MB SDRAM -- if the Sylvania had at least 512, it might have made a decent Android device.
Matthew. Not for nothing Yeah 5-6 years ago it might of been a worth a closer look. But seriously these thing were meant to be released TODAY.
Even my HTC TP2 had more memory than this stupid ass thing and it ran on WM6.5 which is somewhat similar.
Reading up on this device people are attempting android and says it sucks. Certain linux distros work on it. But unless you're using this for the bathroom command line interface device. I wouldn't bother.

I bought a similar touch-screen WinCE viewsonic at a garage sale for a dollar.
I want my dollar back!!!
