Glorified USB hub. Works if you don't have a dedicated dock connector, otherwise buy the dock made for your laptop.
I also can't imagine how poorly the VGA out will work connected to USB.
To clarify: The "d-sub" connector is a DE-15, also known as a VGA connector. This thing has a video card built into it. Universal notebook dock *with video* is a big deal and normally goes for roughly double this price.
#2, it's not ideal for watching movies or gaming, but you won't notice any lag with general office uses. It should be pointed out that these work fine on desktops too, and if you're just trying to get more stock prices on screen at once, they're a fine way to go multihead without getting into video card messes.
limited refresh rates and screen resolutions. Only so much baconnaise fits through USB. One of our clients couldn't use b/c of that. Works ok on 1024x768.

Agreed, good for 2d work but nothing more.
