"Apparently it is modeled after the seats found in Jeeps."
Thanks for that info, Ben. My friend's jeep is the most uncomfortable vehicle I've ridden in, in a while now, so I guess you just saved me $179!!
Wow. Everyone in the office can get these chairs so we can all roll around and do the dumb Jeep wave to each other!
I wonder if they offer a 2 foot spring extention and mud tires as an option?
Will this jeep chair need constant maintenance as well?
Forget Jeep, but do they sell Recaro office chairs? that would be the bomb!!
They do exist, #5. I remember seeing some a few years back, they go for $1k or more, depending on model. Too many pesos for this ghetto dog.
Does anyone sell Audi R8 chairs ?
Recaro and other car based office chairs can be found here:

I've used the Recaro office chairs. They look cool and are comfortable - but I think the steelcase and aeron top-of-the-line chairs outperform it for long term sitting at a PC (programming).
Now if that recaro office chair was available with the "air" option... (air fed or pulled through a preforated leather cover) I'd have a different opinion. Not that the steelcase or aeron chairs would represent much of a savings - they're around 1K as well - but you're more likely to be able to get a bargain, or find one used in a used office furniture place (these places are definitely worth a visit, just to see what sorts of stuff is available for not-lots-of-dough).
Oh - and the Recaros probably don't look *that* cool if you're not a motor-head.
As far as Audi (and other) auto seats as office chairs - you could assemble one fairly simply. Just about any machine shop should be able to fabricate the brackets for you. The issue is that car seats are, in general, not built for the same posture you use at a PC.
Nice Find Ben! I actually own this Chair. Bought from Costco and LOVE IT.
why don't u marry it then
I agree, #9. I've used an aeron chair for the past 6 years and it's definitely worth the $$$ imho.
#9 get a life and a JOB..... Look at yourself going overboard in a chat room sitting on a $900 aeron chair. I wish I could slap you, that would make me feel good
