I had the extended DVD version before I bought this. There are a couple scenes on the blu-ray version that I can swear weren't on the DVDs. I felt like Gandalf in Moria: "I have no memory of this scene."
If you're a fan of special features, these movies have the BEST (and longest) special features of all time. Seriously epic, and jaw-dropping.
This is a must have. The sound on this set is amazing.
