well it has kevlar reinforced shoulders. so if your out skiing and someone decides to shoot you in the shoulder with a small firearm it might take some of the impact. the most likely of scenarios. kevlar does one thing stop things less than a ounce going less than 2k fps. why people think its a miracle fabric is beyond me. full panels keep you very warm though. but restrict your movement so much no way you can skii in them ever.

kevlar! that might help on the wipeout or crash from your ski or snowboard. my friend broke his left collar bone from a wipeout on his board. funny as hell! he was on the a level flat snow and tripped. went head first to the snow and jammed his shoulder on to the snow. crack!
