NewEgg.com has the Thermaltake BlacX ST0005U USB & eSATA Docking Station for $40 - $20 rebate [Exp 12/1] = $20 with free shipping. Slam your hard drive into it to make it into a USB external hard drive. Check out this quick look at how it functions.

The rebate processor newegg uses has gone into bankruptcy

note: the link I've posted is from a different deals site, so Ben'll probably clobber it.

Thanks for the heads up. This would be a good deal, otherwise, although it looks like the RadioShack deal is better.

this looks like a great idea. i like the fact you don't have to put it in a case and can swap out hard drives sorta on the fly. might have to look into this, although if the rebate is bogus maybe somewhere else..

Be careful of your hard drive overheating since there is no cooling system. Would be better to get a good $30 enclosure with active cooling fans. Don't bother with USB 2.0, the eSATA is MUCH faster. Check to see if your enclosure comes with an eSATA cable, many do not.

I have the older version that's a USB hub as well. Unfortunately, that version was only usb 2.0, and didn't have e-SATA.

This newer version does away with the usb hub (who really needs an extra 4 ports?) and give you e-SATA instead. Much better and more practical. I wish I had this one instead.

Don't bother with this if you are looking for your mail-in rebate to come. I made the mistake of ordering from radioshack on the previous blacx deal on the same product. Tried canceling but radioshack said they couldn't do it. Got screwed by radioshack and the rebate comany.

I have the USB version, good stuff. Too bad about the rebate, otherwise I would get this.
