I have the Dual port version of the BlacX dock, it is a really solid piece of hardware.

My only concern is that without a drive in the bay the contacts are exposed to falling dust because the shield has a notch cut out for 2.5" drives instead of covering the whole opening.

For $13 this is a no brainer.

It will be many years before enough dust gets in there to matter, unless you smoke then it sticks to everything.
