Today only. Newegg has the Thermaltake BlacX N0028USU USB & SATA Docking Station for $36 - $13 off with coupon code EMCYNZT45 [Exp 2/16] = $23 with free shipping. Slam your hard drive into it to make it into a USB external hard drive. Check out this quick look at how it functions.

Will these take a 1.5TB drive?

No - the connectors on drives are different for each size - this one is set for 20 megs.

#2 is a fool. That is incorrect. This will accept any SATA drive.

#3, it was a joke. I was laughing, #2. #1 is the fool cuz it's so hard to click on the link and find out for yourself. I have 3 of these because Newegg tends to bundle them with a hdd, so it makes it pratically free. I would prefer the eSATA, but USB still works.

It's not funny if you have to explain it.

are these easy to turn on and off? because my esata external slows my computer down for turning on and off if the esata is on.

Once after a blackout the esata turned itself on, but it has a soft switch(not a toggle).

other than that small complaint, esata is MUCH faster than usb.

I have the version with an eSata and USB ports and it has a power button on the back. Should be on the front IMO.

Even with the button on the back it is easy to turn on/off, so long as it's not sitting so far away you can't reach around to access the back. It's not a soft switch, it's a mechanical pushbutton.
