yea, slam your drive in this, so that it goes bad before you spill coffee in it.
I'd buy 1 of these for $20 without the rebate, but I never see them sans rebate. My rebate rule is "Only buy if the I can live with the price if I don't get the rebate" and $35 is too high.
Yeah, I've sworn off rebates. When they work OK, but every now and then you get one that you've got to chase and chase and it's just too damn much hassle.
Does this one support 1.5TB or greater drives?
Supports All 2.5" & 3.5" SATA HDDs upto 1TB
I used for my notebook backup.
It's very useful.
Great deal without the rebate please.
#4 I got 1 and it works ok with my Seagate 1.5TB.( even it mentioned fot 1TB only ) For your reference.
If there's one thing you should do with your hard drives, it's slamming them into things.
Thermaltake's site states this model will:
Supports All 2.5†& 3.5†SATA HDDs up to 2 TB !
Hot-Swap Capability for Rapid Multi HDDs Access & Exchange
Supports eSATA Transfer Speed up to 3Gbps
Supports USB 2.0 Transfer Speed up to 480Mbps
Windows & Mac OS Compatible
Is it wrong that I want one of these, even though I really don't have any practical use for it?
Note: I wouldn't recommend using this for any "high-performance" type drive as there's absolutely no active cooling going on here. If you pointed a little desk fan at it, or if you were using one of the new "eco" drives that run cooler it'd probably be okay.
Hell... if it even had a cheap aluminum heatsink that pressed up against the drive it might be okay.
I have a friend that I'm gonna share this w/, goes through storage like crazy
