If you just want to use USB part - then it doesn't matter any more.
Two slots or not, it seems a little expensive for the tech it uses since it doesn't have USB3. Maybe at $24 without a rebate involved, though filling out a rebate isn't all that much to do.
I was able to use this to expand the storage on my optimum DVR using eSata. However, did not try more than one drive. It worked well with two drives for USB. Pretty reliable.
