Newegg has the Toastess TJK-28 White 1.7qt Cordless Kettle for $18 with free shipping. Features a corrosion/scale resistant heating element, auto-off and can boil as little as 2 cups of water.
At first I was thinking it's not worth the bother if you have a microwave, but far more handy on a desk at work or if someone else is using the microwave.
Avoid the plastic ones.. heating up water in these would leech in BPA, BPS and other such nice things..
Get a stainless steel one, like the one from costco
what does it mean by "cordless"?
It does show cord there.
The base has the cord, the kettle does not.

Short ~ 3' cord.
