I don't know about this particular unit but TomToms in general have a pretty good reputation.

Decent ratings by Consumer Report and Newegg users. Although some whine about the inability to use bluetooth with Verizon phones.

I own this exact GPS unit, and love it, so does my fiance. It does everything I needed including work with my Lg8350 (VZW) via bluetooth. Fiance loves it so much, she seemed to have acquired it from me. Thinking about purchasing a second.... Easy to use, I put a 16gb sdhc card in it and use it as my mp3 player, and doubles very nicely as a bluetooth speaker phone. Oh yeah and the GPS functionality rocks - tried every other maker and Tomtom is the only one I will buy

Do yourself a favor and get a Garmin Nuvi instead. The interface is much easier to use.

I bought one for my mother in-law two years ago for $400.00 She loves it but I could not connect our phones via bluetooth. As #4 stated our phones were Verison, not that the carrier should matter.

We love our TomTom. It took us to Tennessee and back with out any problems. I use it a lot when I go to garage sales. I can program in all the locations I want to go to and then don't have to be looking at a newspaper!

I have this unit and it works great. Good directions, has all the gizmos (mp3, picture, etc) that you could want. However, when I upgraded the OS via Tomtom Home to version 8, it totally messed everything up, causing the voice to stutter and eventually the disk crashing. Fortunately, I was able to exchange it but I am sticking with the OS that came installed. Really poor software release from tomtom but I am pleased with the gps unit itself.

TomTom is by far the best...I'm in sales and I use it every day. There are very few mapping errors.
