I got one of these. I also have a Garmin 250W. The TomTom seems more innovative, with lots more customizations possible. Of course that makes it a bit more complicated to use. The Garmin therefore has a simpler interface. Both will get you to where you need, but my main complaint against the Garmin is that sometimes it takes FOREVER to grab a satellite signal. Once I was outside walking under clear skies, and it would not acquire. I gave up after 45 minutes. So far, I haven't had that issue with the TomTom.
