I purchased one of these last week. It works very well for the price. It is a little small and does not pronounce street names. But it works quite well otherwise. It gets a location fix quickly and the maps are pretty accurate in my area (Nashville).
Pretty good deal for the price. It has all the essentials for navigation. It does not say the street names but other than that everything works well. Also it has a lot of POI and even we can share custom POI's and route information with other users.
#3 that's my thought. I owned a Garmin with 4 years old map. It would cost me $75 to upgrade. So this unit is what I bought and am very satisfied with the purchase. Very quick obtaining sattelites and lots of them too. One addition to other posters, since this unit is a touch screen you cannot interractively move around the map as in google. That's the only thing I miss from my Garmin unit.
Ive had one about 6 months. It usually gets me to where I need to go. but it will go in to a crash loop at times and the only way out of it is to pull out the SD card, turn it off and wait a couple hours. There is one street that will set it off every time if it is between you and where you want to be. Ive had it take an hour to find satellites a couple of times too. For the price though I would recomend it.

Yey...the GPS cost the same as a software map upgrade now.

The map update is free at the TOMTOM site for one year.
the map updates are also free on thepiratebay for two years. Or more.
I got one the last time they had the coupon, the map updates are disabled for the refurb units. I second the pirate bay option though.
