Read the reviews. This thing gets bricked if you try to update. There are wrkarounds but... meh.
Reviews make it sound pretty easy to upgrade, and they make it sound like they get bricked when morons who can't read a warning message click "continue with update anyway" in a pobaconp window.
Apparently, if you remove the Spanish and French language files before running the upgrade, there is more than enough room to install the new map file.
I fell for it. With the 8% bing cash back, I'm looking at $88-ish for a 4.3" GPS with text-to-speech. Sounds good to me.
I have one of these (BF from Target). Map guarantee gives you a "free" map update, if new US/Canada maps released within 3 mo., as I recall. That happened in my case and update went smoothly. TomTom Home software will warn if there is not sufficient space for the new maps and suggests what can be safely removed. These things are usually languages other than English, other voices, etc. Backup and installation are VERY simple. Software will restore to previous status if necessary. I like the free map updates provided by other users when map errors are found.
"Traffic safety camera" location updates are free, too.

Ordered on Monday, received on Friday. Ran the map update with no problems. So far, working like a charm. Only thing I don't like is you can't search for restaurants by style (e, Japanese, Indian, etc.).
