I couldn't find the contrast ratio at Toshiba
      http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/televisions/lcd/product.asp?model=32av502r
      but Google suggests 10,000:1.

      Wow!

      Under $300?

I thought for sure this was refurbished, but it's not.

#1, did you click on detailed specs? Says clearly that it is 60 hz (as you and others mentioned).

      Good TV.

I was about to pull the trigger on this as well... until I checked Overstock's return policy. No refunds on TV's at all. If it is damaged or dead on arrival, you must go through service with Toshiba. 2 year extended warranty is really only one year, as it starts at purchase date. If you are ok with these rules, then it is a great deal for sure.

DOA on arrival and they pawn the hassle of returning and fixing on you for a contracted new TV? I don't that agreement flies and can supersede normal consumer law. I can understand if you at least had some initial use of a perfect item that then went bad, but absolving themselves of any responsibility for DOA out of the box, uh uh. I would insist on them sending you a replacement at their cost, and if they balk, then simply do a chargeback.

But such an agreement also brings up the other possibility. What if your item IS perfect? You can call up and claim it's DOA anyway. Of course they will refuse to make good, so you can then threaten to do a chargeback. You might even get a working TV for free!!!!
