I bought the REGZA 40XV645U last week for $610 shipped, and it looks like its still avalable for $650. Probably worth it for 120hz vs the 60hz deal here. One problem with the 40XV645U is that it needs a firmware upgrade to resolve a small sound issue on some sets, but Toshiba provides that on a flash drive. A minor inconvenience for an otherwise great TV.

regzas are notorious for blowing out after the warranty has expired. mine went out 3 months after, thank god for american express.

Ben loves calling this model a Regza. It's not. Those are more expensive. This is the vanilla 40".

Had experience with Toshiba with other things, they break very soon. So never a fan of Toshiba even if it is half price.

Damn, I'm not happy to hear my new Regza will implode. My Toshiba laptop is awesome though, and refuses to die no matter how hard I try to kill it. I'm optimistic the TV will be just fine.
