does anyone have any experience comparing the bluetooth model compared to the 2.4gHz model? The range on my "wireless" model sucks doughnut, but I'm wondering if it's because the computer I'm using it is networked wirelessly...could there be interference?
Get a USB extension cord and relocate the reciever away from the PC, ideally about monitor height. I did this with my 2.4ghz version and get 15 feet or so. Haven't tested further as that's the max distance I can get from the PC in my media room.
This is one of the slickest form factors for HTPC control yet... and the laser pointer makes for a great cat toy!
I've got one of these, i think a regular htpc remote you can get for 3 bucks off ebay is better for regular use, but this one is ok for when you need a keyboard or something.
it likes to go into sleep mode and needs to be reconnected, and it has to be turned off if you don't want to waste batteries.

What's that in feet...or meters?
Like, 6ft. This is my 2nd one with the same issue.

Fun toy, not really worth the cash though.
