Just bought one of these a week ago.
Good card, but not as fast (or expensive) as my SanDisk Extreme III.

Copying a 1GB file with this card, I got a 8.77MB/sec write and a 14.3MB/sec read speed. More than enough for almost all cameras, and well over the rated of 6MB/sec speed.

My older SanDisk Extreme III, has a 14.7MB/sec write and a 16.7MB/sec read, using the same computer/file/usb reader.

If you're only getting 14-17MB/s read you desperately need a new USB reader, it's not the card's fault. Even the old 100X cards can do that. Granted now they're rated at minimum write rather than max read but that shouldn't go down. Then again, could be the PC, could be the card, you aren't necessarily guaranteed of getting exact same thing from same brand even if it looks identical (though the faint ink markings on the plastic should indicate exactly what it is despite the brand or label).
