The iPhone 4 gets great reception. A case will help alleviate the "grip of death" issue.

depends on where you live. ATT works great in the bay area. Plus I have no problems when I visit my family in LA.

I got my first iphone4 3 days ago through AT&T and have no problems with it. My wife got hers(upgraded from 3g) 4 days ago through Apple preorder. Both are perfect and crisp/clear etc. Same with my other friends' experiences.

However -- BEWARE of your credit card company on this transaction. I bought this and other things from cellular factory and my credit card company imposed a FOREIGN TRANSACTION FEE on the payment. I looked up the fee and found out that tons of others have had problems buying things online (esp. travel) and being assesed these fees because the parent companies were not headquartered in the US even though the transaction was through a US company and in US dollars. For Example: buy a ticket to canada in USD from travelocity, a US company. Aircanada processes payment through their washington DC operations. You get surprised with a Foreign Transaction Fee of 3% because aircanada is based in canada. Just a heads up for anything you may buy in the future especially on high dollar transactions.
