Looks like it's just an Access Point. It is a "stand alone" device; but it isn't a "router"
Correct. I have a Linux PC that I use as my router, and I connected this to the Ethernet switch which is the base of my wired network. It works beautifully.
They should just call it an access point since that's what it is. BTW, price is so-so. I got a TP-Link N router a while ago for <$20 and it works great. Although this does 300Mbps. Not sure if mine does 150. Still, the spec below means it probably doesn't matter. No Gig-E.
Hardware
Standards IEEE 802.11n ( draft 2.0) IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, and 802.11e
Interface 1 x 10/100Mbps Auto-MDIX LAN port
Dang, just bought this a few weeks ago for $40. Works perfectly and with no install hassles with my Verizon FiOS router, which must be used with FiOS but is Wireless G. Took perhaps five minutes to set up.
