DinoDirect has the UltraFire WF-502B 210 Lumen Q5 Cree LED Flashlight for $13 - 6% off with coupon code FONAREVKA = $12 with free shipping. Features a water-resistant aluminum body and uses 1 x 18650 battery or 2 x CR123A batteries (neither included).
-- Reviews look good and the website has got some good comparison pics when you scroll down. I especially like when they show the photo that shows that it's actually brighter than a car's headlamp. "Very good, bright flashlight. Shines brightly like headlamps car. "
More from reviewers: MORE REVIEWER'S QUOTES: "It is very bright flashlight. It is realy use CREE XM-L diode. Great body, and all other " "3 modes: bright, not bright and stroboskope"
-- Earlier review this year (2011) sd this: "Didn't expect much from a $4 LED. It's very bright,so bright in fact that it's inadvisable to look straight into the light. It's got some heft, which I like. The aluminum frame is sturdy. No regrets, and no malfunctions (yet?). For the price, you can't go wrong."
I have one of these and it indeed is brighter than a car's headlight. This has become my everyday flashlight. I used to carry a single AA CREE light but after using this for 2 minutes there is no going back. I have about 40 various CREE lights and this is hands-down the brightest one, even over other 18650 models. It's considerably larger than a single AA light but worth it IMO. I'm a big guy and don't mind this size of light being clipped in my back pocket. I'm using a single rechargeable 18650 with it. I got 2 of them with a charger on ebay for like $12.
I don't trust the reviews on DD. I bought two different no-name flash lights based on the "wow, they are sooo bright" reviews. But they were dim, dim, and went directly to the trash can. In each occasion I wrote a review to share what I found, guess what? They never showed up on the site.
Ultrafire is a solid name, though. But I don't expect a Cree XML as one quoted review says, for two reasons: the Ultrafire WF502B XML flash lights usually cost around $18 ~ $25; they are rated at 1000 LMs by the manufacturer (it's most likely 600 LMs). Q5 LED might be closer to reality.
Edit: Thanks #6. The link indeed leads to a WF502B XM-LT6. Now I am tempted to get one myself.

==> I have about 40 various CREE lights -- Really? You have that many? I love flashlights. Aparently there are people out there that can't stop buying flashlights -- either cuz of the deal, the brightness, the durability, the size, the type of battery they take or all. I call them flashlight junkies. But it's kinda neat though. Flashlights are getting cooler and cooler nowadays. -- I think I'll get one of these cuz of your review. I saw the website and the pics and that impressed me, but your review sold me. -- Thanks for your contribution!
Think you are right, davc When $12, this flashlight's price, is mentioned thought the poster was talking about the flashlight while 2x18650 + charger is about $10 on ebay.
As one poster mentioned why subject says 210 lumen/Q5 when the linked item says 600 lumen/XM-L? And the subject says using 18650/CR123A, but the linked item uses only 18650.
Also one poster wondered why reviewers are all Russians and another poster mentioned his BAD review never showed up.
-- They sure have a crappy credit card processing system. I got the items in my cart, have previously signed in, went to pay for this (even added the batteries & charger combo onto my order) & then their system won't take EITHER of my gift cards. I have an AMEX and a VISA gift card. Neither will work. They just lost a sale. Rats! -- BUYER BEWARE. I just wasted a lot of time reading & sharing comments, comparing. THEY DON'T TAKE GIFT CARDS. -- Anyone else have trouble ordering?
^ while that seems annoying, it's only $12. When dealing with Chinese bulk sales sites you have to accept jumping through a hoop or two for the savings passed on by having worse features, customer service, etc (or you don't have to accept it, every deal has a price vs tradeoffs to consider).

-- So maybe the $12 isn't the best deal.
I will only buy if they take AA batteries.

The picture shows an XM-L LED. With budget lights they often drive the LED at less than max current because that decreases the heatsinking needed.
What's the black egg thing above the flashlight?

If indeed brighter than a car's headlight, don't think it's suitable as EDC.
- I got 2 of them with a charger on ebay for like $12.
Are the ones from ebay the same as this one?
Care to give a link?
^ I think he means two 18650 cells and charger on ebay for $12
