    I've owned Panasonic cordless phones for as long as I can remember. My recent set has lasted about 9 years after replacing the batteries on each phone 3-4 times. Decided to try some refurbished Uniden phones. After 30 days (warranty) the phones started acting up. Had a dial tone, but couldn't dial out. Stay away from Uniden Cordless phone!!

    #1 - your problem probably stems from the fact they were refurbished. I have a Uniden cordless setup for several years now at it works great.
