      These work pretty well as far as I can tell. I got these on Amazon for 20.

      These are good for taking to school and hiding them in desks and yelling into the other one in the middle of a class.

      18 miles? Where? On the moon? Try like 3/4 of a mile in the city ( Mesa AZ)

      I was able to get 22 miles by connecting them together using a wire.

      If I unplug the wire I am back to 1/2 mile line of sight.

      What wire are you talking about? you have a 22 miles long wire?

      They do say that the 18 miles is when you have a clear line of sight... In a city with buildings all around you will see it drop down to 1-2 miles...
