This is an excellent phone, not to mention has much better PQ than the vastly overrated FujiFilm F31fd.

I've had this model for a few months and it has been terrific.
Upgrading to this 5.8GHz set, from my old Uniden 2.4GHz set, has eliminated interference issues with my Linksys wireless router.

So based on #1-3, Uniden phone quality has gotten a lot better in the past few years? I've had older Uniden cordless that were utter crap but had avoided the brand too long to draw a conclusion about current models.

I have the Radioshack version of this line of phones. Basically, the exact same internals, just a weird gold-tone color (though I got them for a good price at the time, so it was worth it). Just like the above posters said, this is the best phone (and first phone system) that I've ever had. Also, the NiMH batteries last quite a long time too w/o replacements (haven't replaced mine in over 3yrs). Finally, I believe ConsumerReports rates Uniden very high in quality, etc.

I had poor luck with Uniden in the past, as well. But my more recent Vtech problems made me go looking again. This phone scored really well on a few consumer reports, and I've been very happy with it. I've had this 2-unit set for about a month.
