If I bought this & ever needed to use it, I guarantee that it'd be locked in the trunk.

Yeah, I can just see myself...locked out of my vehicle, looking for this tool...which of course would be sitting in my car!

A brick or rock works faster.

#4 is correct. I used a brick to break the trunk lock so i get my lockout tool.

If you keep this at home, why not just keep a second set of keys there. If you keep it in your spouse's (friend's, partner's) car, just give him a backup car key. In Chicago, 5 friends swapped car keys so we could call on each other, the better to cover the large area where we all lived/worked. Better, then, to keep your local sheriff's non-emergency number in your cell phone contacts, so you can call them for assistance (they will have these or something like it). Maybe buy one or two for your local PD to increase the odds an officer actually has access to it when you need it. Or get a magnetic key holder for placement about your vehicle. (What if a thief get's your key?! Well, all the better he use a key than break your window). And finally, I have two sets of keys - the full house set that never leaves my pocket, and the one or two key set that goes in the ignition. I have locked my keys in the car 10 times in the past 10 years, but have had the full set in my pocket. No worries, though the stomach pit always opens up. And, should you get car jacked, the thief gets only the car keys, not your PO Box, house key, lock box, shed padlock, partner's house, and other car keys -- all of which would need be changed had your full set been in the ignition when car jacked).

Just get a car with a keypad on the door. No need for a key to unlock the door.

Well #6 that would be nice if your average Ben's Bargains visitor actually had 5 friends...

Thanks a lot for pointing out our social awkwardness. Razz
