Straight Talk is offering a pre-paid 30-Day Unlimited Talk, Text and Data Plan for $45/month. No contract, GSM network, can be used with any unlocked GSM phone (Straight Talk SIM card required).
1000 Minute and 1000 Text Plan for $30/month
Walmart has the 3-month Unlimited Talk Text Data Plan for $126 and 6-month Plan for $250 via email delivery
Straight Talk, PagePlus, Virgin Mobile are all advertising unlimited data but the fine print says no streaming of video or music. So no Netflix and the like. The data is for mobile web use only. With Verizon getting more bacon challenged on prices, are there any decent cell phone services out there that won't break the bank? I'm out of contract now with Verizon (Thank Oprah) but still paying monthly. Their price is just way too high.
Take a look at the T-Mobile $30 Prepaid Walmart plan. Unlimited data and texting plus 100 minutes of call time. Details here: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Tmobile-30-Wireless-Airtime-Card/15443357
M-e-t-r-o-PCS looks like another decent option if they have service in your area.
I'm looking for an alternative to VerizonWL also. I spent three hours of confusion yesterday. All the "comparison" sites are more hype than fact.
What does "mobile web only mean"?
I can't get a good sense of how good M-e-t-r-o-PCS is in the Buffalo NY area,
Bottom line, what will disappoint me if I jump to one of these No Contract Unlimited Talk, Text, Data?
"mobile web only mean"? It means that you can look at web pages and update your social sites. But it's a no-no for streaming of music from say Pandora or movies from Netflix. Heck I guess you are not even supposed to look at You Tube. They will contact you if you use too much data. The term unlimited seems misleading.
