I don't see the version for $35 - all I can find are Unreal III with assorted bonuses.
I suspect that either this version is sold out, or I am jumping the gun on the 48 Hour Madness Sale.
Or get it at Ammazon for $39.99 shipped:
HERE
I didn't see the deal either, but it looks like a great upgrade from UT'03.
I didnt see it either.. i wonder if these sales are for like an hour and go away by the time it gets posted
The original UT was freaking amazing. Came with my VooDoo3 3500. I've purchased a couple of the iterations since then, but skipped the last one. I think I'll snag this one.
imo, this UT doesn't have enough to pull me from other games now
gameplay hasn't changed much from the prior ones
This game has caused me to call in sick to work so that I can play it some more. The graphical candy is truly amazing, and sometimes I wait to spawn just so I can fly around and look at things. Deathmatch is great and all, but i think this game shines for the Warfare mode. You've got yourself a hoverboard (that can grab onto any fast-moving (even flying!) vehicle for a ride), vehicles that can crash themselves into the enemy core for incredible damage, and a giant Darkwalker vehicle supported by tentacles that can cut people down with a sustained laser.
The levels are immense and well balanced, the gameplay is a new kind of fast, and the graphics (even at 2 out of 5 on my slower machine :-/ ) bring friends over to watch it on the projector.
Highly Recommended.
Have a good one!

Oh Plus, there's this vehicle (Nightshade) that can lay a slow-down mine. It makes a cube in the map that's oddly green. Inside it, time slows down! Bullets (and lasers somehow...) slow down inside, and people that wander into it slow to a crawling, sitting duck.
It's great!
If you got yourself a fast computer, give the demo a shot. No warfare mode, but you can see the vehicles in action in Vehicle Capture-The-Flag.

I think theres other online fps that are better like Team Fortress 2 and Quake wars
No game can compare to the fast paced action style of UT3. In this sense, UT still holds the crown for multiplayer fps. Sure, other games offer many other features, but none can copy the style of UT.
Much happier when I got the UT Anthology from GoGamer for $5....'03 is still in my all-time-favs to play
ditto #5 and #10
btw i still play UT 99 (RamItIntoYourStomach)
Completely awesome game, more fun than you'll know what to do with. Don't think just buy, thank me later.
#5: I got the same card and also got UT! OMG! We're like ancient video card buddies! I will send you a valentine.
Well, time to go crap my pants. Write back soon!
sincerely,
toddsucks
The UT series games are the only ones I play
No comparison. Quake, ET, Doom X....
I tried the demo for this and it was great. I was waiting on getting a new card before I got the game..but then I heard on GFW ( formerly CGW ) that they had a worldwide <40 players on at once playing this...that sounds so..not right, but GFW magazine knows what its talking about..sigh, too bad, the game looks really nice.
Sadly, the game just isn't any fun. The graphics are not as good as the previous version, it's just the same old tired rehashed gameplay. A big minus is that the players all look the same and are the same shade as the levels themselves, so you can't find crap. Same weapons, same gameplay, same boring stuff.
