Sure - in desktops you PC tards can build a system that is significantly less than a Mac Pro desktop - but you usually build a piece of crap that dies in less than 2 years. Spend - build - spend - rebuild - repeat.
I priced a Dell Latitude E6510 Premium laptop. It was one of the only ones that offered Quad i7 processor. I could not update the speed of the processor - it is stuck at 1.73MHz. I can not comment on the included graphics card compared to Macs. Had to bump memory to match Mac, add bluetooth, had to bump HD to meet Mac. Dell has higher resolution than Mac.
