What's the deal, Ben - did they *downgrade* this card?!?
Used to be you would get back 3% on your spending in the *top 3* categories every month of 15 different categories they offered. If they are now limiting it to only "Grocery Stores, Gas Stations, and Quick Service Restaurants" then that really sucks...
just so you know the math... you have to spend $20,000 else where or $6,667 on gas/food to get a $250 cashback. That's a return of 1.25% or 3.75%, respectively.
Bank of America NCL Mastercard gives 3% on all purchases, but it is as credit toward a cruise, not cash. Compared to airline and hotel cards, there are relatively few restrictions for redeeming the cruise points. www.ncl.com and click "NCL Mastercard" near the bottom of the screen for more info.
Ask for the chase visa signature and get 3% on the top three categories you spent each month out of 15 they list without having to choose, plus 1% on everything else. So besides gas & supermarket, you might pay your gym membership or buy a commuter transit pass or a new expensive cellphone.
#3, you don't "have to" do that. I agree that is best, but you still get 3%/1% if you only earn $50 cashback. And this looks better than most deals, though I will have to check out #5's deal.

This 3% beats most others that offer 1%, even if it is for 3 categories. Other cards have 5% promos that revert to 1%.

Ok, posted too soon. #5's suggestion has an annual fee, and therefore is a piece of baconnaise, and so is your face.
