Just FYI, not everyone qualifies for this Visa Signature card. When you apply, they will first consider you for the Visa Signature. If you don't qualify they will give you the regular Chase Freedom card. I'm not sure what the benefits for that card are though.
Also, if you have previously applied for a Chase card, you will not receive the $50 bonus.
Just checked the terms. There is $12 max per month that you can accumulate with 3% rewards. One thing that is unclear is, can you select the three categories or they select them for you? I kinda got confused by their site.
great card, got in on the $250 in rewards last april. you can really make a lot of rewards if you commute and need to get a lot of gas. i also like the fact that they give you a year end summary of all your purchases that year. it really gives you a good idea of what you're spending all your money on.
Got this card about 2 weeks ago. Use it only once in a local BJ's store. Got a call from Chase last Friday telling me that there's international online transaction of $8500 placed by iobroker. Luckily Chase denied the transaction. The representative told me to destroy the card and they will send me another one. Wonder if this will affect my credit score or appear on my credit report.
#6 The card give you 3% on the three categories you spend the most money in each month. It is done automatically so you don't have to do anything, be aware that most online retailers haven't set up a category so you get only 1%. I really need PayPal to pick a category so I can rack in 3% on my eBay purchases.
#7 If you buy a lot of gas you should get a Discover Open Road card and get 5% (10% if doubled) instead of 3%. Be aware that there is a limit on the 5% and afterward it is tiered .25% - 1%.
For those with Chase Freedom cards be aware that in Feb. if you spend $100 on the card you get a bonus $10.
At least $12/mo beats the measly Discover Open Road limit of $5/mo. Plus the $12/mo equates to $15/mo when you factor in the 25% bonus for redeeming at $200 instead of at $50.
Guess it is best card these days.
Looks like it is. I am wondering if the $250 for $200 is just one time or all the time?
it's all the time, and when I opened up an account half a year ago they started me off with $100 in rewards
Thanks #3. I guess I can replace my BofA card with just 1%. Just have to check the terms if there is a limit to how much you can redeem per year.
