Interesting that this thing starts at 40dB. I consider 30dB to be too loud to be near. I'll pass on this one.
Hmm ... could it be because this one is made for identifying REALLY loud sounds. Unlike the very sensitive sound meter from Radio Shack that is used for calibrating sound systems.
30dB is really mouse breath quiet, not audible to men and most women. Even if you're stoned. Trust me.
