Focalprice has the USB Rechargeable AA Batteries for $5 with free shipping. Includes 2 batteries. Features intelligent charger and can be charged from any USB port.
wonder how long it takes to DIScharge. the space taken up by the USB connector and charging circuitry significantly reduces the size of the actual charge storage part of the battery (20% perhaps?). still, if you're never far from a USB port/charger, it could be convenient. maybe even worth $2.50 per cell.
dumb idea. If you think you had problems keeping track of the caps on your regular USB flash drives now, imagine losing the caps off these batteries and they become useless.
According to one of the product discussions, they are 550mAh. All the regular rechargeables I have are 1800-2500mAh, so these will last ~1/4 as long as a regular rechargeable.
#8: It's not linear... 550mA will last LESS than 25% of something 2200mA.
At low discharge rates (and if they were accurately rated, many generic Chinese cells aren't) the discharge rate is fairly linear. For example if they are even remotely decent cells they should handle under 250mA at close enough to linear, and close enough not to bother mentioning at under 100mA.
Best use for something like this would seem to be batteries for your laptop mouse on an extended vacation, which drains them slow enough the low capacity doesn't matter much and you can avoid having to take a travel charger along with you (if you have nothing else that might go through AA cells like a camera). Then again you can buy batteries almost anywhere.

but a neat idea nonetheless.

It's from "focalprice". In China-man speak, that translates to "Chinese made garbage for stupid westerners."
Find me something made in USA on bens #5. I bet you lost ur job to politicians. lol.
novel idea... but #2 is right... the battery mustn't hold too much charge...

hmm interesting.
#8 Did someone test them or is it speculation?
Ben was made in china
