I have these, got them from costco, they sound great but have one flaw. They are metal so they transmit shocks when wearing certain types of jackets/clothes. The first time it happened I was very shocked.... lol sorry couldn't resist. But seriously that can't be good for your ear/head.
don't know about everyone else but i have that problem with any headphones i use. yeah, if your jacket has static, it's going to send that shock through the headphones regardless if the whole thing is metal or if the casing is plastic because there are still conductive wires inside. the shocks should be small enough where it won't damage your ears but definitely not comfortable advice #1: make sure you aren't wearing headphones when taking your jacket off. advice #2: keep the cord outside of the jacket (in other words, don't use your internal pockets for your audio device though 9 out of 10 jackets probably have one for it)
I have the iPhone version with the microphone for the iPhone -- paid $99 at the Apple store. These sound fantastic -- no complaints.
