This one is junk. The plastic is too flimsy and my notebook pressed it into fans too often. Instead buy Antec USB-Powered Notebook Cooler.

Ugh> If you have your laptop on a flat surface or on a piece of closing, some of venting holes could be closed causing the laptop to heat too much. At least it will reduce the life span of the laptop's battery, but it can affect other parts too.

you need one of these when your laptop works overtime. for instance when i play games like crysis or cnc3, the laptop works overtime and this will cool it a bit, by about 10 C. i only plug it in when i play games, but it wont do any help as the minimum temp of my laptop is 40C. just like everything needs a minimum temp to run, turning it on wont make it go lower than the min. yeah, my laptop can run these games. bought it top notch last summer w/ discrete card

#4, what is this scientific term "works overtime" that you speak of.

How about "when you require full processing power, the device heats up, thus causing the fans to run. This device has fans to help with cooling of the notebook."

It is nice though how you expound on your Badd Asss notebook because it can run games. Woop-tee-fucinkg-doo.

I have this and Antec cooler. Take my advise, buy Antec instead. This Vantec cooler looks cheap, feels cheap, and it works cheap.

Rather have rubbermaids passive cooled. Keeps my lappy 5F cooler than this.
